More information
The book is based on original research at the Centre for Child Study at the University of Birmingham in the UK, with subsequent research undertaken by Professor Wheldall and Dr Wheldall at the Macquarie University Special Education Centre in Sydney.
In this book, we cover concepts such as identifying troublesome classroom behaviour, focusing on appropriate classroom behaviour through connecting consequences with specific behaviours, setting the classroom context, and enhancing praise and reprimands. As teachers acknowledge, all people need clear guidelines and clear instructions, and most thrive on reward and recognition.
The book is easy to read, is thought-provoking and gives clear, practical directions about how to create positive learning environments using real-life examples.
